Growing Season - A Gardener's Work

Eager to get out and enjoy the early August sunshine, Scout has taken up work as a part-time (part-time meaning once upon a time for about 20 minutes) gardener at the local herbal botanical garden.

Introducing the world's smallest gardener/herbalist.

"Where to begin?"

Tending to the nasturtiums and lady's mantle.

How will one little girl get it all done? Especially when the water can is as big as her.

" Lavender? Looking good. Great job pollinators!"

"Phew, this is hard work. I'm just going to sneak off for a quick break."

Ah... shade.

"Hey lady, what time is it?"

"5pm? See ya' echinacea, I'm outta here."

Scary

This isn't as dangerous as it looks, and she was well supervised by her mother, but here's confirmation that Scout is at the intersection of fearlessness and mobility that keeps me awake at night:

Scout Camp

We had our first family camping overnight last week and it was a success. Scout enjoyed the tent, the pool, and picking up sticks around the camp site.

We all enjoyed a little respite from our busy summer days at home and at work.
