First Fitting

I just returned from Bar Harbor where I had my first dress fitting. It was a practice dress made with an old piece of lime green cotton cloth. My mom did a beautiful job putting it together but the quality of the fabric made it feel, and look, like a shapeless old sack. I have confidence that, when made with the ivory raw silk we chose, the dress will be beautiful. I may just hold my breath until then.

  • It looks beautiful Laura, Almonzo will be swept off his feet. I hope he has something on under his kilt when that happens.

  • It doesn't matter what you wear darling; you could wear a mailsack and still be the most beautiful girl in the world.

  • The dress in the picture is a joke found on google image search. It is not the dress I will be wearing. I have had numerous calls so I felt it was important to clarify.

  • This will however serve as the petticoat for my kilt.

  • This comment has nothing to do with the dress, I just didn't know where else to write it...(although now that I know you are not wearing it to the wedding, can I wear it?)

    Anyway-

The invitations are adorable & clever! In fact, both Mr.and I were so impressed with the "send your own postcard" idea, we EACH want to send one. Is that bad RSVP etiquette? Can we still attend as a couple? Please let us know soon!

  • You know, there is still time to get pregnant. Then you can have a real Maine wedding, or a real Yorkshire wedding, whatever. I have a dress you can borrow. And I think Cheney has a shotgun your Dad can borrow.
